September 2010

After quite a slow month of August, September started with a check over for the MOT, due at the end of the month. The near side trackrod end had a little play, even though they have covered less than 3000 miles, I guess a "pattern" part made to lower standards. So a new set of Quinton Hazell ends were sourced and swapped over in nineteen minutes, these feel so much better made when moved by hand.

Its almost a year since the coupé was back on the road, and MOT time came around again. A small bit of welding was needed along with the track-rod ends. But the result was a pass, so the car can now be taxed for another years.

Having passed it's MOT test it was time to load the car up and head to Edinburgh, crossing the Forth road bridge for the first time, on the way.

The reason for the trip was the magnificent machines show, held at the National museum of flight in East Fortune. This event covered all types of transport from Concorde to steam traction engines.
